Animals feels sophisticated and tight and I like the progressive 5/4 signature which also turns into 6/4 during the second guitar solo - that's cool man. Panic station is a bop and some of Muse's catchiest shit ever. Big Freeze takes a while to get going but it's got some pretty satisfying guitar tones imo. Despite the album's constant changes in tone and whatnot I find myself not hating but also not loving all the songs. While this is low on my list I still consider this a 'standard' album. I find Undisclosed Desires to be pretty catchy and I always love hearing some slap bass from Chris. Uprising is a solid tune, easy to listen to which I appreciate. All solid songs but aside from the symphony there's nothing that I absolutely adore but also nothing I really hate. The symphony is definitely the major highlight for me. Despite that, the songs that I like on here I LOVE so it balances it out for me. ![]() But whenever I listen to it fully I always realize that I want to skip a lot of the tracks and that maybe it's not as great as I always imagine it. I always think that I LOVE this album because everyone else seems to and it just kinda gets ingrained that I do too. The lyrics in BF&H make me cringe while the piano piece makes me awe. Same with TOADA, TSP, even Apocalypse Please gets a bit tedious for me after it's first chorus. Blackout is pretty, but I never catch myself wanting to listen to it. But, for me personally I also don't really enjoy a lot of tracks too. How do you not like an album that has Hysteria and Stockholm Syndrome in. High highs but also some low lows with things like Dig DownĪbsolution. Algorithm to Dark Side to Pressure and then to some of Muse's more wacky sounding songs of Propoganda and Break It To Me. Despite it's imo lackluster second half (aside from the closer) the first half is some of my favorite Muse material. ![]() Hoodoo and Soldiers Poem with it's grandness and it's calmness respectively. ![]() I love every song, Darkshines and Space Dementia being highlights.īlack Holes and Revelations. not one song i think sounds like muse or sounds like anything was fleshed out Simulation theory - this isn’t a stylistic thing-i love electronic and pop music, it’s just that the songwriting feels lazy and unfinished. The 2nd law - the last album that sounds like muse wrote it to me, feels a bit disconnected and some tracks i have no interest in, there are still many i enjoy thoughĭrones - 2-3 tracks i enjoy, the rest feels generic to me-blah hard rock music that doesn’t capture the sound of muse imo. The resistance - starting the modern muse sound, i enjoy some tracks, others just do not do it for me. some tracks i don’t like as much and the progression doesn’t feel as satisfying, but other tracks are in my top 5. Hullabaloo - the 10 tracks make up a surprisingly satisfying progression, and some of the showbiz/oos b-sides are my fav muse tracks.īhar - definitely the most “muse” sounding album. Oos - amazing progression throughout the record, harsh sound, romanticisms… beautifulĪbsolution - love the themes, love the production, almost feels slightly restrained in a good way. Showbiz - the most personal and emotional record they’ve made-the whole era is really beautiful to me.
